Wonderful Wednesday!

Well, we are off to visit the children!

Yes, I'm so excited! Our oldest son's wife has been told "any time now"... so, we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our precious little Grace, who will be our fourth grandchild. She is just as precious to us as our first, and we are just as excited to have her!

We get to spend time with all the children and grandchildren.

On Friday, our first granddaughter, Kate, will celebrate her 2nd birthday. On Saturday we get to help celebrate with her and her other grandmother will be in town from Michigan. It will be fun to see her again. We haven't seen her since our children got married almost 5 years ago.

We have a busy week planned. I will post pictures and news of Grace's arrival when she decides to make her appearance.

Keep us in your prayers - especially the birth process....

Controversy

I have held my tongue - well... maybe not. I have expressed myself at home. Please know this is controversial - but it is humbly written and questioning...

Is anyone else sick and tired of all the black/white stuff?

I have some very dear friends of color - red, yellow, black and brown. I love them all. I respect them. I honor them. Not for their color, but for who they are. Their color does not enter in to the equation.

I also have dear friends who are white...

I feel that we are all created in God's image.

I wish that all things were equal, but you know - life is not equal. Bad things happen to everyone. Atrocities have happened in all our families and to all our ancestors.

Why is it okay to have "black" churches and agenda, but there cannot be anything that would be interpreted as "white" anything?

Please know that I am not racist. Yes, I grew up in Georgia, but like I said, I have very good precious black friends and have for years.

It is not okay, no matter WHAT color you are to damn America, to be divisive or to have an agenda to promote one race or sex over the other (that's another thing I am against, "feminism"). We are "one country under God"... "United we stand"... why are we fighting each other?????

We are all created in the skin and body we have. We need to be happy and accept it and not be inferior or superior to anyone else just because they are different from us.

I am sorry that black people were oppressed and forced into slavery. It was wrong, it was horrible. But, the truth is - there is not ONE person alive today that did that. Neither is there ONE person alive today that was a slave.

Why is it an issue in today's world? Why is it still used as an excuse to not move on and to continue to live in bondage of their own making?

WHY? WHY? is it even an issue in today's presidential campaign? Why, WHY is it constantly held over our heads and thrown in our faces and somehow whites are made to feel responsible and have to pay for it?

The issues for President should be about honesty, integrity, skill, ability. Their stand on Christian ideals - against same sex marriage and abortion.. support Israel.

Whether they are black, white, male, female, Republican, Democrat - none of that matters. What is their character? What do they stand for? Can we trust them and can they do the job?

Well, thanks for "listening"... I just got tired of hearing it on TV and Hannity and Combs wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise!

Happy Birthday Mama!

March 19, 1922 Henry Frank Bennett and Sarah Pearl Louellen Womack Bennett gave birth to their 4th child in Macon, Georgia. Sarah Elizabeth was the third living child.

She was quickly named, then nicknamed, Bess. Bess has brought so much love and joy into the world.

Even though at times when we talk to her now she may not know who we are or where she is, she still knows she loves us and is quick to tell us how much she loves us and wants to see us.

Mama grew up during the depression. She spent her life serving others. She took care of her mama and her three younger sisters and brother and many cousins and friends. Later her husband and children.

Mama prays for us and loves us. She has been "mama" to many, Aunt Bess, Miss Bess and my Daddy's "Honey". Everyone who knows her loves her and wants to be close to her. She brings so much joy and laughter into our lives. Her delight is to bring smiles and laughter to the world.

I wish you could know her. You too, would be blessed!

Happy, Happy 86th Birthday, Mama. I love you and miss you! See you soon! (but not soon enough!)

Sickness...

No, not me.
This week my precious little grandchildren had a bad cold and went to the doctor. There they got a horrible stomach virus! Poor little ones - well, poor mommy! They were so sick and when I talked to her on Friday she was washing multiple loads of throw-up laundry.

Today - SHE has it. Poor hubby! He has had to take care of all of them. Glad he had last weekend off from the kids.

Thank goodness for sisters... Younger sister came to the rescue with Sprite, crackers and chicken noodle soup!

God is good. Sickness is bad!

What Would YOU do for .....

The other day I went to the grocery store and bought some 100 calorie Klondike bars. Since then I have had that song on my mind... "what would you doooooooooo for a Klondike bar?"

or, "I get a BAGEL just for putting a new roof on the house???"

I started thinking about things I'd do for different things...

What am I willing to give up to get something?

I'm willing to go to work to have extra money...

I'm willing to take a bath to be socially acceptable...

I'm willing to do without some foods to lose weight ...

but,
am I willing to do what it takes to have love, joy, peace...
to have good children
to have good relationships
to have a good marriage
to have an encounter with God that is real and personal?
those take work!
but, they are well worth it and they do all take work and commitment.

What you you doooooooo for a happy life?

Cowboy lingo...

The other day a cowboy came into our place of business. He was wearing short chaps.
I turned to the girl next to me and asked if he had outgrown his CHaps.

She turned to me and smiled sweetly and said, "shaps". I must have looked really confused because she repeated, "SHAPS, you pronounce it shaps... and, he was wearing CHINKS, they are shorter shaps."

So, I've had a cowboy lesson. Even though they are spelled chaps, they are pronounced SHAPS and if they are short and look like they have been outgrown, they are chinks.

CHAPS: (pronounced "shaps") Derived from the Spanish las chaparreras, or chaparejos. Leggings worn by horse people as protection against the brush and weather. Usually made of leather.

(Chinks): Short chaps or riding apron, originally from California. Usually with fringe, they come just below the knee. Regional to buckaroos. Texas and southwestern cowboys sometimes wear chinks with their pants tucked into high boots.

I knew you'd be enthralled with this bit of information.

Surprise Weekend

Friday, we got a wonderful surprise and treat! Our daughter packed up their 2 kids and brought them down to spend the weekend with us. They got here right before I got off work, so I was able to share my joy with those at work.

watching Mickey Mouse Club...
Puppy love.... all smiles ...

finding just the right toy...
None of them felt very good and were trying to catch a healing. But we enjoyed them so much. It was sad when they left. I know now what my mama meant when she would say, "couldn't you just leave ONE sound?" The house is so empty and quiet when they leave.

What a joy and pleasure it is to have children - what a reward to have grandchildren!
God is good!

More on "answers"

I realized that I only gave my friend a partial answer to why I am not sick....

Yes, I take lots and lots of vitamins and supplements.

The truth is, that every morning I thank God that I am "healthy, wealthy and wise" - among many other things I pray...

But, years and years ago, someone said something that stuck in my head. They were talking about a revelation they got from God. He said, "I told my people they could have what they say, instead, they say what they have."

This is not the "name it claim it" gospel. It is "by my words I am justified and by my words, I am condemned". It is "whatever I ask the Father in Jesus Name, He will do it!"
It is "beloved, I wish above all things that you may PROSPER (wealthy), and be in HEALTH (healthy) even as your SOUL (wisdom) prospers"
It is that there is "life and death in the power of the tongue"...

There is so much here - may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in YOUR sight, Lord...

We are to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves. We are not to be deceived and just accept what life throws at us. We have a choice, we can choose life and not death...

The main thing is... it is not about ME. It is about how great our God is and how much He loves!

more later...

How confusing!

They are predicting SNOW again! Truely this is different....
Of course, they have predicted snow almost every weekend - all I have seen is blowing snow. I don't really expect any snow, but the temps are going back down again, We have 60, 70 and even 80 degree weather one day and below freezing the next.

It is testing my wardrobe!

Another one finished!

HIP HIP HOOOORRRAAAYYYY!

I finished the test for Reflexology! It is a great course and I hope to be able to use it. (I must get over my dislike of touching feet for it to be really effective, though.) The test is ready to be sent off for grading.

It is amazing how awesome our body is and how God designed and created it. This course helped to confirm what we already know. We were fearfully and wonderfully made.

The next course???? I'll keep you informed. Any questions you have about reflexology? I'll try to answer... just don't ask me to massage your feet...

Answers

This morning I had a real answer to prayer...
The girl I have posted about actually called me to her desk and said,
"I want to know WHAT you take everyday! You are always in a good mood, you always feel good and you are never sick! WHAT DO YOU DO????"
I gave her a small list of my vitamins and supplements and she wrote them down and said she was going to go vitamin shopping!
All I can say is,"praise the Lord and Hallelujah!"

More weather wonders...

Well, this morning our daughter called and said she had 5 inches of snow this morning...
We are 3 hours south and it is 60!.... go figure!

What if you LIKE it???

Weather....
I've heard that if you don't like the weather don't worry, it will change...
We have had some beautiful weather lately. Sun shinning... high 70's.... sooooooo nice!!!!!
Well, we woke up this morning to FREEZING cold rainy/snowy/icy...
I LIKED the weather we were having. I was hoping that it wouldn't change.
Guess that's the fact of life - change!
Get comfortable with it ... it's in the air!

Next class..

I have started on my next class. I'm really getting into this one already.

It is reflexology... or massaging hands and feet... hahahahahaaaaaaa

I hate touching feet and having my feet touched! The ONLY time I had a pedicure I almost crawled out of my skin when she was doing it. Hopefully, this will help me to overcome that stronghold.

I'll let you know more as I go along. But, it is interesting that your hands and feet tell what is going on in your body and through massage can help bring healing and relief.

more later - gotta go study!
